The Body Mass Index connection to Cancer

BMI gives an indication of our health status, so as to identify and prevent health related problems associated with it. Overweight & obesity are mostly indicative of  various types of cancers.

It is always good to balance how much we eat with how active we are.. It is important to develop dietary and physical activity strategies. Optimal weight results from appropraite calorie intake.
Excess body fat affects certain hormones: Insulin, estrogen, androgens and these hormones are closely related to cancer risks.

Loosing weight or keeping fit doesn't still guarantee you won't have cancer as there are many other factors to be taken into consideration, but it will reduce the risk of cancer.

We need researchers to furthermore investigate the morbidity, mortality and association of the different types of cancers with the body mass index.
